Mrs. Katrina Hess is a Graduate Gemologist and brings to the company many years of expertise in gemstones and other jewels.

  • 2011 - Treasurer of the West Florida GIA Alumni.
  • 2009 - 2nd Location International Plaza 2009 Founded the West Florida GIA Alumni (president 3 years).
  • 2009 - Muhle Glasshutte USA CFO (we are the US Distributor).
  • 2008 - Xemex Watch USA CFO.
  • 2007 - Became owners of the publishing rights for the following watch books by Earhardt: Patek, Omega, Cartier. 
  • 2006 to Present - Old Northeast Jewelers.
  • 2003 - Developed and published on eBay the watch grading terms on eBay auctions.
  • 2003 - Developed the systematic methodology and templates for HessFinesauctions eBay auctions.
  • 2003 - Ball Watch USA CFO (we are the US Distributor).
  • 2000 - Adjunct Professor USF for Antiques and Collectibles.
  • 2000 - NBC affiliate antiques expert on the Jack Harris show.
  • 2000 - Hess Fine Auctions CFO.
  • 1999 - Became a Sothebys.com Charter Master Dealer.
  • 1998 - Was offered a teaching position for the Registered Master Valuer Course at the University of Tampa (decline conflicts in scheduling).
  • 1998 to Present - Hess Fine Art CFO and head Senior Gemologist.
  • 1999 to 2011 - Independent Jeweler Authorized dealer for the following brands: Fine Watches: BALL, Hamilton, Jean Marcel, Oris, Muhle, Breitling, Raymond Weil, Swiss Army, Tag Heuer, Seiko, Ananta, Grand Seiko, Bell and Ross. Jewelry: Hearts on Fire Diamonds, Lazare Kaplan Diamonds, Teno Jewelry, Pandora jewelry, Scott Kay jewelry. 
  • 1996 to 1997 - Preformed Appraisals for Tiffany & Co, Cartier and Tourneau. This was unusual as they don't allow independents but we assisted in a few contentious situations where and unbiased educated opinion was required.
  • 1994 to 1998 - Co Founded Jewelry Appraisal Services Independent Appraisal service to the public and trade Wrote and taught the 1st Texas Insurance accredited continuing education course for licensing hours for agents, adjusted and underwriters. Taught this class to over 100 agents adjusters and underwriters Wrote and taught another Pawnbrokers education class and taught to EZ pawn staffers Digitized Anna Millers Registered Master Valuer Course and updated it.
  • 1993 to 1994 - Cash America Pawnshops Only Graduate Gemologist on staff Over saw the jewelry for 67 stores approximately $52,000,000.00 Taught training manual on a systematic methodology diamond grading to 3 regions and about 57 stores. Wrote the jewelry loan valuation guidelines (still in use in many chains as they "liberated" the training. Provided basic Diamond grading training and images to all stores.
  • 1992 to 1993 - Founded Appraisal Dynamics Jewelry Appraisals wrote and taught Diamond grading manual for Pawnbrokers Independent Appraisals for TX courts and individuals Anna Miller (author of the Registered Master Valuer Appraisal course) became my mentor and colleague.
  • 1992 to 1997 - Service Merchandise 1 of 5 Graduate Gemologists nationwide #1 in Sales nationwide
  • 1990 and 1991 - (only person to do it twice) First $1,000,000.00 salesperson Completed GIA classes for Pearls Precious metals (with honors) Wrote the Diamond consultant training manual Participated in 2 years of Catalog picks at corporate office Became Secretary for the Houston Chapter of the GIA Alumni (1993 to 1998) GIA Alumni Extension course of Fracture Filled diamonds (1st group to be taught this extension course by GIA).
  • 1984 to 1987 - Nowlin Jewelry Competed Fine Jewelry Sales with GIA Nowlin Jewelry where I earned my Graduate Gemologist from GIA consisting of Diamonds Diamond Grading, Colored stones, Gem Identification 2 - 1 week 40 hour hands on classes and comprehensive exams. Brands we were authorized dealers of: Rolex, Certina, Seiko, Lazare Kaplan diamonds, Mikimoto Pearls, Montana Sapphires
